Creative add-on

Attachable figures

ConceptP3 - Low - Urgency 2/5Creative Launchpad category

Roadmap item, not a released accessory yet. Files, pricing, checkout links, and compatibility claims wait until the validation gate passes.

Requirement

Problem
Users may want low-risk personalization without editing functional parts.
Why now
This can be a low-risk Launchpad category once safe attachment zones are defined.
Exact requirement
Create decorative figure mounts that attach to non-load-bearing areas and do not change slot alignment.
Compatibility
Only after A1 safe attachment zones and size/weight limits are defined.

Release Gate

Mounting locations are marked safe and tested through full travel.

Acceptance criteria

  • Mounts only to non-functional cosmetic or frame-safe areas.
  • Cannot loosen into the toolhead, bed, cutter, or slot bank.
  • Includes size and weight limits for submitted Launchpad figures.

Launch assets

  • Mount-interface template.
  • Reference figure STL/3MF once validated.
  • Launchpad submission checklist.

Prototype Plan

Define a simple mount interface for decorative objects and test it through full toolhead, bed, and slot movement.

Next build steps

  • Design one standard decorative mount interface.
  • Create a small reference figure and one blank adapter.
  • Test the mount through full printer travel and a real filament change.

Measurements needed

  • Maximum figure size and mass by mount location.
  • Minimum clearance to the moving bed, toolhead, and PTFE tubes.
  • Retention force needed to survive repeated swaps without permanent mounting.

Safety Boundaries

  • Must not mount to slot calibration surfaces, PTFE couplings, toolhead drive parts, or the cutter path.
  • Must not loosen into the bed, toolhead, rear slot row, or electronics area.
  • Must include size and weight limits for community submissions.

Evidence source

Owner requested attachable figures for the system.

Validation Tests

Retention and travel test

Run a full travel sequence and three real filament changes with the reference figure installed.

Pass: Figure remains attached, does not vibrate loose, and causes no contact.

Community submission review

Check a submitted figure against the size, mass, and mount-interface rules.

Pass: Unsafe submissions can be rejected with objective criteria.
